What is Code 95?
The code 95 on your licence indicates that you have completed the fundamental qualification for professional drivers. This course must be adhered to by all professionals with a C (truck) or D (bus) license.
This training is required for drivers who plan to work in foreign countries. This is particularly important for those with the category D driving license.
Professional bus and truck drivers
A driving licence code 95 is a document which shows that the driver has the professional skills required for transportation. This is required for both truck and bus drivers who wish to work in the European Union. This document also ensures the safety of passengers and cargo when it is transported. The driving license code 95 is valid for five years and must be renewed on a regular basis.
To obtain a code-95 driving license, you have to complete a 35-lecture theoretical course. After the course is completed they must pass an exam to receive a certification. The ones who fail the test must take another course to get certified again. A number of driving schools across the country offer this course.
In addition to the essential driving skills bus and truck drivers must possess other abilities and skills. These include customer service, communication, and navigation and route planning. In addition, they must be able to schedule breaks for meals, sleep, and break times during trips that last longer than a day. These other skills are essential to a successful career as a truck or bus driver.
The code 95 driving licence is a certificate of professional competence that proves the driver has the necessary abilities to operate large trucks. A truck driver who wishes to drive in Europe must have a driving licence with the code 95 from their country of origin. This allows them to work in the EU and EEA. If a trucker comes from a non EU country and wants to work in the EU, they must obtain a code95 driving licence in Poland in order to work in the EU.
The driving school "Einsteins" offers instruction to obtain a code 95 licence. This allows drivers in the categories D1, D1E and D to renew their professional license once every five years. The course is broken down into a series lectures and is available either in weekend or evening sessions.
Non-EU or EEA licenses
Increasingly, truck drivers from non-EU countries are opting to get an official code 95 driving license in Poland. The reason for this is that the process is much cheaper than in other European countries, like the Netherlands. The code 95 indication on your driver's licence is proof that you've met the (training) requirements for professional drivers in the C- C1- D-categories of cars and their trailers. Directive 2003/59/EC requires this to EU citizens and foreign nationals employed by companies in the European Union to provide commercial transport services.
In the Netherlands, you can only obtain a code 95 inscription on your licence if have completed the initial test for professional drivers (basiskwalificatie, in Dutch). This is a part of the training course for the acquisition of the basic category licence for your vehicle category. You will be able to select between the long and short courses for this course.
Each course consists of 35 lectures in the language you select (Polish, English or German). A certificate will be issued to you when you have successfully completed the course. This certificate is valid for five-years. You can also request a digital version of this certificate, which is valid for two years.
If you have a code 95 designation on your driving license you are able to drive any truck within Europe as long as you adhere to the regulations of the country where you are working. If you plan to drive in the UK, for example, you will need a driver's license from the GB CPC card and must complete your regular training in the UK. Periodical training
The Code 95 indication on a driving license is required for all drivers who work professionally transporting passengers and goods in the European Union. This signifies that the driver has completed a minimum 35-hour training over a period of five years in the country where they reside or work in. The training must comprise both practical and theoretical instruction.
Truck drivers with the code 95 on their licence must attend refresher courses at least every five years to maintain their professional driving licence. In the Netherlands, the Central Bureau for Driver Testing (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen, CBR) checks whether a driver has completed the training.
In the course, you will be taught about tachograph operation and your rights and obligations as a truck driver. You will also get the opportunity to practice manoeuvres on-site, such as coupling or uncoupling the tractor. You will also be able to take an exam at the end of the course.
Training for the Code 95 licence can be taken at many of the leading driving schools throughout the country. Einsteins offers this course for example, in evening and weekend group sessions. A typical course consists of 35 lessons. These lessons are split into various modules and are arranged over a period of two weeks.
You need a license that allows you to operate a truck with a maximum weight of 750 kilograms. This license is known as a C licence in the Netherlands. You must adhere to strict rules regarding your driving time and rest time.
If you hold a European licence that bears the Code 95 indication and have completed your training in an EU country you can apply for registration with the CBR by submitting proof that you've taken the mandatory periodic training. You can then exchange your European license to a Dutch licence.
In the Netherlands you have to renew your Code 95 licence once every five years. The renewal process entails taking a an ongoing refresher course of at least 35 hours, which is divided into various modules and topics. Some of these courses are compulsory, while others can be selected by the driver.
Renewal
Every five years, professional bus drivers or truck drivers (categories D1, D1E and) must renew their professional driver qualification by attending a Code 95 course. After completing the 35-lecture training course, a 5-year-validation is added to their driving license or
Prawo Jazdy Kat A2 certificate. This allows them to perform commercial transport services on a daily base.
In the Netherlands the code 95 can be added on all categories C or D licenses for drivers of buses, trucks, or lorries. This code means that a driver can operate vehicles that fall under these categories with a the maximum weight of 7,500kg. Adding code 95 to the licence also permits the driver to drive a tractor trailer.
To renew the code 95 indicator on the driver's license, the driver must complete an annual refresher course of 35 hours through the annual programs, and this can be spread out over the five years during which they have to renew their license. In addition,
