What Kind of Driving License For a Quad Bike?
If you intend to drive a quad on a road that is public, then you need a full UK license or, if it was manufactured before January 1997, category B1. It also needs to be registered with the DVLA and be covered by third insurance.
If, however, you intend to use it on private land then no license is required at all. You only need the permission of the landowner.
ATV License
In the majority of places, you can't ride on a quad without a driver's license. You require an automobile or driver's license as they do not meet road standards for vehicles. If you're a farmer on whose land the highway passes through, you might be permitted to drive your quad under certain circumstances.
If you're planning to use your quad bike for transporting goods or passengers you'll need an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) license. A valid license permits you to operate a quad bike with an empty weight up to 350 kilograms and the design speed should not be more than 45 km/h. You must also carry a first aid kit and a fitness certificate. ATV license holders also must wear a helmet and suitable clothing. You can also take an ATV licensing course to learn more about the license.
B1 License
The B1 licence category permits you to ride light quadricycles on four wheels up to 400kg without load or up to 550kg if your vehicle is designed to carry goods. This is a limited version of the Category B license in full. It is valid for those who passed their test prior to January 2013.
If you plan to drive larger vehicles such as vans and buses, you'll need the category C. If your quad is used solely for horticulture, agriculture or forestry you can get zero-rated road tax. You will also require an CBT certification and third-party liability insurance. You will require a full UK driving licence for any vehicle with more than nine seats. Category C1 is more limiting than category C and permits vehicles with a maximum authorised weight (MAM) of 3,500 kilograms. Trailers can be towed up to a maximum combined weight of 12,000 kg.
B2 License
A B2 license is a driver's permit that allows you to drive vehicles with the maximum weight allowed of 3,500kg. This includes motor tricycles and vehicles with trailers but not minibuses or vehicles that carry more passengers than eight. This excludes vehicles in category B with a power output of greater than 15kW.
The license is issued by a state inspection agency or other organization that is approved by the government. The process for obtaining a B2 license varies by country, but usually involves a written examination and a test on the spot.
In the majority of states, it is unlawful to ride on quads without a license. There are exceptions. For example, California allows mopeds to be driven on roads if they meet certain safety standards and are fitted with an orange'slow vehicle triangle.

The Gold Driver's License (GorudoMian Xu, Gorudo Menkyo, or Superior Driver's License in Japanese) is a unique designation for drivers who are accident - and violation-free. The drivers who have this designation can enjoy discounts on their insurance coverage for their cars.
A valid driving license in the majority of countries is similar to an ID card and includes the driver's photograph, name, driving record date of issue, the place of issue, allowed categories, and signature. Certain older licenses like those that come in the form booklets and credit cards, are still in use.
In certain countries, the license might have a small heart with the words "Organ Donor". This is to indicate that the owner of the license is willing to donate organs after death. This is a good method to save lives. The holder is also eligible for medical care in the case of an accident. Some governments require that the holder undergo medical tests. These may include a physical exam as well as an assessment of mental health.
