Driving License Category A2

The A2 category of driving licence allows you to operate motorcycles without sidecars with a maximum engine output of 35 kW. The ratio of power to weight cannot exceed 0.2 kg/kW.

The step-bystep procedure for this driving license allows you to get your first motorcycle driving license early and then gradually move up to higher engine power by obtaining the A2 licence.

Motorcycles and scooters

The second level of a motorcycle licence is the driving license category A2. This permits you to operate mopeds and small motorcycles up to 50cc. The class is intended to allow you to gradually climb the ladder of engine power and to savor the possibility of the possibility of a bigger one. The test is more difficult and requires more theory.

The category A2 driver's licence is valid until the age of 24. It is valid in conjunction with a category A1 car driving licence or as an interim driver's license. If you are older than 24 years old you must have a category B driving licence is required to operate motorcycles with a power output of more than 35 kW.

If you have passed a two-part moped or lower category motorcycle test since 1st July 1996, then you are able to skip the theory test and take the practical exam. You can choose to ride a small scooter or moped fitted with L plates, or you can obtain the AM license which allows you to ride motorcycles up to 50cc and a maximum speed of 45mph. The AM licence is only valid if you have taken the test in your theory and have completed nine hours of training, divided into practical and theory lessons at a driving school.

Four-wheeled vehicles

This category includes all motor vehicles with four wheels that are not buses or passenger vehicles. It also covers utilitarian vehicles like pickups, panels and vans. Campers, motorhomes and lorries are also covered. This category can also include vehicles like ambulances, hearses and carryalls that are designed to carry more than eight passengers or have a maximum authorized mass of more than 750kg. A1 drivers are able to drive vehicles of this kind with a trailer weighing up to 775kg.

To drive a vehicle of this category, you need to pass the theory test. To pass, you have to attend a total of 12 lessons for 90 minutes of the fundamental content and four additional lessons of 90 minutes each for the add-on (category A2). The theory tests have a passing score of 70%.

After passing the theory test, you will then be required to take a road test exam on both private and public roads. After passing both tests, you will receive an application for your driving license. You will need to present this request to the local authority within three years of passing your practical test.

Once you have passed your driving test, it is possible to drive vehicles in the category A2. In certain countries, if you have had an A1 licence for two years, you do not need to pass an additional driving test to obtain a category A2 licence that permits you to drive motorcycles that have up to 35 kW. This is a way to get experience driving smaller-powered two-wheelers before transitioning to more powerful machines.

If you have a driving licence in category A2, you can use a tricycle so long as it has the capacity of 125cc and a maximum power output of 11 kW. This category was earlier part of the A licence. Motor vehicles with 5 or more wheels

This category comprises vehicles with motors that are designed to be used on the road for the transportation of passengers or goods. They must have at minimum two or three wheels that are in contact with the ground, a seat or saddle for the driver and passenger, and a motor capable of producing speeds of 20 miles per hour or more. These vehicles come with brakes as well as a steering wheel. They also have the capability to be controlled in a normal direction and can be driven in reverse. In some instances the hoods of these vehicles may be opened. This term was traditionally used for trucks (vans, minivans, panel, pickups as well as sport utility vehicles) and buses that can carry 16 or greater passengers. A slightly different definition is employed by the federal government, which governs uniform licensing requirements for drivers of commercial vehicles. This definition excludes vehicles that weigh 26,001 pounds gross weight or more.

Additionally to this, the category A2 driving license can be used to operate a moped, motorcycle or motor-driven cycle. This type of license is only valid if the volume of the cylinder and the power of the motor are not greater than 125 cubic centimeters and 15 kilowatts, respectively. This license is also valid to drive tricycles with motors. The minimum age for this class of license is 16 years old. Physically disabled people could also be able to drive motor tricycles that fall in category A1 or A.

Some people prefer to obtain an operator license, which is valid for vehicles that have a a maximum authorised mass of 3,500kg and eight seats. Drivers who have an operator license are permitted to tow trailers which weigh up to 750kg MAM. Motor vehicles with trailers

The A2 category includes motorized vehicles with trailers. These are not vehicles pulled by drivers, but rather towed by larger vehicles, such as cars. To drive vehicles in this category, you must have completed the theory test for category A1 or have obtained a driving licence by direct entry. You may also need to pass a practical driving test, based on the type vehicle you want to drive.

The licence you receive for category A2 is valid for three years from the date on which you pass your theory test. You must renew it prior the expiry date to keep it in force.

In addition to the categories listed above, you can also be granted a driving license for other vehicles with special requirements. For example, you need an exclusive license to drive a large-sized goods vehicle, which is classed as a category C. This requires a thorough understanding of special regulations for the transport of dangerous products.

The code 96 is added to your category B of your driving licence when you pass both the theory and practical test, but your vehicle or trailer are not eligible for a category C license. The code 96 will be added to your driving license category B if you have passed both the practical and theoretical tests however your trailer or vehicle do not qualify for the Category C licence.

To operate a vehicle in this category you must have an driving license for category B for at least two years, and pass a theory test and practical test for this category. You should also have taken a special course and undergone additional training to be eligible for this. This course is called the driver's training course.
